Some people may be surprised to hear that there is more then one way to provide pellets to your rabbit. Most people just measure out their rabbit’s daily pellets and place them in a bowl. Here are a few different ways to give your rabbits pellets:
Scatter Feeding:
Rabbits are natural foragers. So in the wild they would would be hopping around looking for food! One of the most natural ways to feed your rabbit’s pellets is to sprinkle them around the cage/room. This method also helps with rabbits who are prone to eating too fast or for overweight rabbits as it makes them have to move around.
Treat Ball:
Another great way to offer pellets to your rabbit is by placing them into a treat ball! This way your rabbit gets lots of exercise chasing the ball around trying to get the pellets out. This method also helps for rabbits who eat too fast.
Tricks:
One of my favorite ways to give rabbits pellets is to make them do tricks! You can train your rabbits to do tricks and offer pellets as their reward! This is another awesome way to help your rabbit move around more and to have fun! Many rabbits really enjoy doing tricks/agility!
